Refund Policy
Last updated: August 12, 2026
The short version: there is a 14-day free trial and it never asks for a card, so you should not end up having paid for something you had not already watched work against your own AWS bill. If you end up there anyway, write to us within 14 days and we refund it.
The trial is the real protection
No one should have to pay to find out whether CostWarden works for them.
- 14 days, free, and no card is required to start. There is nothing to cancel if you walk away.
- The clock starts when your AWS connection first works — not when you sign up. Time spent stuck on an IAM role is not trial time.
- By the time there is a charge, you have already seen your own spend, your own anomalies and your own rightsizing findings in the Dashboard, and real alerts in whichever channel you connected.
Asking for a refund
One message. No interrogation, no retention call.
Use the contact form within 14 days of a charge and we refund that payment in full. Plans run from US$39 to US$179 per month per organization, so that is one month of whichever plan you are on, back.
You do not have to explain why. “It is not for us” is a complete reason, and we will not ask a second question to try to change your mind.
Include the email address on the account so the payment can be found. That is the only thing needed.
Cancelling and refunding are different things
Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not, by itself, undo the last one.
You can cancel any time from Settings → Billing. Access continues until the end of the period you already paid for — you are not cut off the moment you click.
Nothing is deleted. When the paid period ends, ingestion pauses: no new cost data, no alerts, no digests. Everything already synced stays visible in the Dashboard, and subscribing again resumes where it left off.
If you also want the last charge back, ask for it — cancelling in the app does not do that for you.
How the money actually comes back
Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record, which means they are the ones who move it.
Lemon Squeezy is the legal seller of the subscription. They charged the card, they issue the invoice, and they handle sales tax and VAT worldwide. Card details never reach CostWarden — we cannot see them and do not store them.
So the refund is executed by Lemon Squeezy, back to the original payment method. Expect 5–10 business days; the exact timing belongs to your bank, not to us.
Independently of this policy, Lemon Squeezy may also issue a refund at their own discretion within 60 days of a purchase. That is extra protection for you on top of what is written here, not a limit on it.
Lemon Squeezy’s buyer terms govern the transaction itself; our Terms of Service govern the use of the software.
What is not refunded
- Periods already used and outside the 14-day window above. If CostWarden has been running for five months and you want to stop, cancel and you will not be charged again — we do not refund the five months backwards.
- That is the whole list. There is no setup fee, no annual commitment and no cancellation charge that could need refunding.
